Our blood pressure app
The Younis Cardiology app is an easy way to record your blood pressure on your phone and share the results with our office. It is for patients of Younis Cardiology.
- Enter readings by hand, or connect a Bluetooth blood pressure cuff.
- Optionally track heart rate and weight, and sync with Apple Health.
- Keep track of your medications, and set reminders to check your pressure.
- After a week or more of readings, create a log to share with us.
Prefer paper?
Download a blood pressure log, print it, and bring it to your visit.
Choosing a cuff
A cuff that has been validated for accuracy and fits your arm gives the most reliable readings. We suggest a few FDA-cleared Bluetooth arm cuffs that work well with our app.
How to measure at home
- Sit quietly for 5 minutes before you measure, with your back supported and your feet flat on the floor.
- Rest your arm on a table at about heart level, with the cuff on bare skin.
- Avoid caffeine, exercise, and smoking for 30 minutes beforehand.
- Use a cuff that fits your arm.
- Take two readings about a minute apart, and record both.
- Measure at the same times each day, for example morning and evening, or as your doctor directs.
Bring your cuff and your recent readings to your visit. Your doctor will tell you which readings to call us about. If you have chest pain, trouble breathing, or other signs of an emergency, call 911.
